Recently there has been considerable interest in the problem of sentiment analysis, where text mining, information retrieval, and natural language processing techniques have been applied to automatically extract opinion and polarity information from text content. Such content can originate from a variety of sources, including mainstream news outlets, blogs, and social media sites. This research has a range of applications, including tracking trends in public opinion en masse, managing brand reputations, and supporting predictions in areas such as financial trading and recommender systems. AICS 2010 will host a special session on sentiment analysis, with the aim of bringing together researchers from the community who are actively working on this problem.
The Program Committee of AICS 2010 invited submissions of papers, both basic and applied, in the area of Sentiment Analysis. Both types of paper submissions (review papers and new original work) are sought for this special session.
AICS 2010 gratefully acknowledges its sponsors: Amiando. Clique Research Cluster. Discipline of Information Technology. School of Psychology. NUI Galway and NUI Galway’s Millennium Fund.
